Megève is one of the Ski Club of Great Britain’s top picks for being a drive-friendly resort. The resort is around 550 miles from Calais. It’s easy motorways nearly all the way to Sallanches, then the last 13km is uphill into Megève. The AA provides useful driving information and a detailed route planner. When driving from the UK to the Alps you need to pay road tolls. Pay by credit card, or in local currency – euros or Swiss francs. In France, you can buy a Télépéage window sticker, which allows quick passage through the toll gates.
