Mountain biking in Megève
There are over 300km of hiking and biking trails right on the doorstep of the Hotel Chalet d’Antoine. Use the resort’s handy marked trails guide to gain access to this fabulous terrain.
A number of lifts open in summer for walkers, bikers and sightseers. Great for making the climb up easier – and the coming down more fun! Special mountain bike lift passes give access to the Mont d’Arbois and Jaillet cable cars, the Rochebrune gondola and the Alpette and Torraz chairlifts. Available to purchase at the lift offices. Plus there are routes that link into the neighbouring resorts of Combloux and Praz-sur-Arly, down into Sallanches in the valley.
Mountain biking, walking and village maps can be viewed, or downloaded online, at www.megeve.com Copies of these maps are available at the Tourist Office in the centre of Megève, and at main lift stations. The Tourist Office website provides planned itineraries for the most popular routes, with some great lunchtime mountain restaurant stops included!
There’s an app to keep track of your tracks!
Megève has its own Skiing, Hiking and Mountain Biking app. The app can be downloaded FREE for Apple Mac (from the Apple Store), or for Android devices. It provides mountain biking and hiking itineraries and an interactive geolocation facility. This makes it possible to calculate speed and distance covered, plus access weather information. There’s also a service directory and events diary. Download for GPS, computer or smartphone from www.megeve-gps.com
