Visit Lake Geneva – make the most of transfer day
Visit Lake Geneva – Here’s a great way to get more out of a Saturday transfer day on an SB Ski holiday. Book the SB Ski transfer coach from the Hotel Chalet d’Antoine. Arrive at Geneva airport at 9.45am, and then have time to visit beautiful Lake Geneva before catching a later flight home. Or do it the other way round and spend an extra day sightseeing in Geneva.
Shared by Switzerland and France, Lake Geneva is a glacial lake, of up to 73kms in length. The canton of Geneva is in the Petit Lac area of the Lake. Visit the famous Jet d’Eau fountain, or the floral clock, situated in the corner of the Jardin Anglais. The clock tells the time with Swiss precision and is made of hundreds of flowers.
A quick detour to visit Lake Geneva offers fabulous rewards
“It’s lovely to relax and enjoy a couple of hours at the Lake,” says Brenda Hurst, SB Ski’s Sales Manager. “Well worth planning a short detour, and much nicer than sitting around at Geneva Airport. It’s really easy to get there – it just takes 5 minutes by train and costs just 3CHF one-way. Plus there are secure lockers for suitcases.”
Luggage can be left in the automatic luggage lockers at the airport. They range in size, and cost from just 5CHF to 12CHF. The largest XXL size locker takes up to 4 suitcases. These lockers can be found just after, and to the left of the ticket machines, at Geneva’s airport station
There is direct access to the railway station from the airport ‘s ‘Check In’ and ‘Arrivals’ levels. Catch one of the frequent trains to the city’s main Gare Cornavin station. The station is just ten minutes walking distance from Lake Geneva, and 20 minutes from Geneva Old Town.
