I want to go skiing with lots of my friends!

Holiday celebrations

It looks like I shall be organising my friends ski holiday..

….yet again! so that we can all go skiing together next year! The job seems to fall to me every year and we’ve been to loads of different ski resorts over the years. Not that I mind doing it, especially now that I have found SB Ski who are really helpful, offer great deals and make it so easy for me from booking it to skiing!

A few years ago, I was recommended to SB Ski, who run the lovely traditional Savoyard style chalet d’Antoine in the centre of the chocolate box village of Megève. The resort offers about 450 kms of groomed pistes as well as great opportunities for off piste. The slopes are generally quiet, long queues are virtually unheard of and there are lots of great mountain restaurants to meet up with friends at lunchtime.

The chalet d’Antoine has its own cosy bar, heated boot racks and their own in house sports therapist – and Toby and Maree, the chefs, produce just the most amazing meals in the chalet. Group ski lessons with Simon Butler’s team of instructors are included in the cost of the holiday and that is perfect for our group who all ski at different levels and keeps us all happy.

There are usually approximately 40-45 guests staying in the chalet (in 23 ensuite bedrooms) and whilst we have only once filled it completely with our group, we always meet other likeminded guests and have a fun holiday, making even more new ski friends. SB Ski offer a great incentive to make a group booking, as they offer one completely free place for every 11 guests booked. That is in addition to the other offers they have running sometimes such as ‘early bird bookings’ or ‘low deposits’, so the prices work out really well for our group.

SB Ski also make it so easy for me to organise it and make the booking on behalf of us all. They are always on hand via email or to chat over the phone from the UK office. They are of course very knowledgeable about the resort and can even suggest activities for non-skiers (as many of my friends have hung up their ski boots but still want to come on holiday with us!). They can advise on how to get there using our local airports and even run their own transfer coach from Geneva airport to the chalet and back every Saturday. The UK office will offer to pre-book our lift passes so that we have as much as possible paid upfront in sterling before we go (or we can choose to wait until we get to the chalet and buy them by card in €). Once we are there, SB Ski have their own ski technician who can service our skis and they also have a wide range of quality ski hire equipment available to fit in the comfort of the chalet d’Antoine. For the chalet staff night off on a Thursday, the chalet manager can book us into one of the local restaurants. And if one of our group has a birthday to celebrate, we can have bubbly at the bar and Maree will do a special birthday cake.

All in all, this always makes for a great ski holiday together – and something that I shall be happy to arrange with SB Ski at chalet d’Antoine for many years to come. As the party leader, it is all made so easy for me, to enjoy my holiday too! Just have a look at their video on the homepage and you will see why we (and lots of others) go back to chalet d’Antoine every year! See you there!
