Megève’s renowned International Jazz Festival held at the end of March will feature top music stars and bring live jazz to the streets. Evening performances will take place at Le Palais sports centre, whilst groups will also playing impromptu gigs throughout the day around the town. Therefore jazz can also be enjoyed for free throughout the whole event.
Opening night at Le Palais features singer/songwriter Kimberly Kitson Mill and her group Kimberose. At just 28-years-old, Kimberley has already been christened the ‘Diva of soul’. The group will perform songs from their first album ‘Chapter One’. Also new and exciting is a unique event showcasing young talent. This will see four upcoming jazz groups perform as opening acts for Kimberose.
On Friday 29th, Dee Dee Bridgewater, the American jazz singer/songwriter and three-time Grammy Award winner will perform her latest album. Singer and Gypsy Jazz guitarist Thomas Dutronc will close the festival with his group ‘Les Esprits Manouches’.
