Take a guided walking tour of the Calvaire de Megève – the town’s unique pilgramage path

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Calvaire de Megève with a local, knowledgeable guide. Available all year round. What better way to gen up on some local history whilst on holiday at the Hotel Chalet d’Antoine in Megève. Perfect for culture vultures or those who want a little time off skis. And an idyllic way to explore the gentle foothills in the summer.

This unique ‘cavalry path’ starts to the eastern side of the village, by the outdoor ice rink. It then wends its way up the gentle slopes towards the Mont d’Arbois plateau.

The site has been listed in the European inventory of Sacred Mounts and Historical Monuments since 1988. Between the years 2001 and 2007, the chapels and oratories were meticulously renovated. As a result the external landscaping now reflects its former 19th Century appearance.

Winter and summer group tours tours cost 5 euros. FREE for children aged 15 years and under. Private bookings are also available on a Thursday at 5pm in the summer. Please book one day in advance with the guide, Edouard Apertet.
